REVIEW

Nenad Golijanin

Volleyball sport is richer for another work of s young author. It is indescribably difficult to convey the ideas, knowledge, theoretic thinking and practical use onto the paper. The author of this book had to have a lot of courage and knowledge to let himself into the analyses of the training process, plunging deeply into the psychology of an athlete. The book acts as a superstructure to already known, enriched with enormous theoretical and practical knowledge.
To be an innovator in the world of top level results is a great achievement. That is why this work gains even more in its importance as the author succeeded in conveying very complicated elements of training and exercises into a smooth text consumed with easiness. And it is the simplicity and understanding of this work present its greatest asset.
Each exercise is graphically presented in an excellent way, making each one even more important.Summing up, it is clear with how much talent the author comes to the aim from his ideas, with an unmistakable feeling of recognizing the essence of volleyball art.Our volleyball players are a symbol of quality, reputation, knowledge and power. In the world we are recognized and valued mostly by our results. The author contributed to raising the reputation and power of our sport a step higher.

Zoran Gajic

The work before us reflexes a top level playing and training volleyball practice of the author. It is at the same time additionally imbued with his thinking process related to some very important aspects of volleyball training and game. Contents and the way each idea is presented present a volleyball identity card of the author. It is characterized by expressed analytical mind and the way he resolves training aims and tasks, while the pattern of exercises directs the reader to the most important feature of training process – gradualness.
Practical implementation is certainly characteristic and virtue of this practicum that I would suggest to coaches of all categories and levels.
Of course, this brave and in volleyball literature a prototype and successful attempt of putting on paper one’s own training philosophy, should be an stimulus for the author but also to all our colleagues in their attempt to raise the theory of our school to an academic level and merge with high level, world related results of our volleyball.

Lazar Grozdanovic

Speaking through he book, volleyball player and an expert in volleyball, Milan Žarković presented to us his talent, knowledge and experience, discovering through sport impulses that are in the very essence of life.
A personality of strong feelings, sharp mind, knightly heart with genetic gift for art, as is Žare, owed this book to himself and to all of us, especially the ones who are coming
.
By his work he returned all that was given to him and proved that he has something to say, in which many failed. Žare – Bravo!

Goran Nesic

Volleyball developed from its practice and this practice should be raised to a higher level.
Coming from the practice and returning into it, without any supplementary knowledge, one remains on the same level and even regresses compared to those who update the game and their approach to the training.
And it is exactly to that kind of coaches that my colleague and friend Milan Žarković belongs to.
The book that is before us represents a successful attempt of transforming the practical work into a written word, that beside practice, assistance and theory of volleyball, is dedicated to a very important element – defense.
In hope that the author will not remain on this work, I would like to emphasize that this book largely gives answer to probably the most important issue of modern volleyball: is it more important how much or how you train. After reading it, it is evident that it is more important what you do and how you train, by which you enter into a zone of optimizing the load, which should be the final aim of training of each volleyball coach.

Gordan Vulovic

The book Practicing Defense in Volleyball Training and in the Game, by the author Milan Žarković, represents a synthesis of the present volleyball practice and longstanding experience acquired by the author, first as a player, and then as a coach. It radiates with directness which is so very specific for volleyball game in the training process. Exercises chosen and elaborated in the text and shown in video, show in a very rational way the essence of the path that should be taken towards the mastership achievements of volleyball play.
Coaches will be able to use individual and sets of exercises directly on the court, but even more, as a model how to create training know-how making it ever more useful.
I sincerely recommend this book to all coaches and experts involved in this work.
